Tips For Cracking Vizag Steel MT All Branches

I am currently working in SAIL, I have cracked SAIL, NMDC, and VizagSteel in 2015.Vizag is a wonderful city . I have visited that city and you will rarely find such cities to work in PSUs. I Know in the preparation phase these things do not matter but the moment you will get a job, all these things will matter and you will curse yourself for not knowing this before. So while you have time to encash this golden opportunity , study as much as you can and make your dream true.

Here are some of the analysis of previous year papers and topic you should follow.

All selected candidates made their way mainly because of non tech part. Trust me in the end it's the Non Technical part that will make the difference. So let's analyse what to study and what NOT TO study.
Aptitude.
Questions 25;

 There are so many topics in this section but I would suggest you to SOLVE ONLY 10 QUESTIONS 1 from each topic and you would find most questions in the exam.

 1.  Ratio
 2. Men & Work
 3. Profit & Loss
 4. Percentage
 5. SI & CI
 6. Allegations ( Mixing Water)
 7. Father son Age
 8. Speed & Distance
 9. Probability and p&c
10. Stock
Last one is most important as hardly 1% will attempt it and it would give you clear lead.

General studies

Marks 25
Questions 25
You can further divide this into three groups
 1.  Current Affairs
   Last four months would be sufficient.
   It would comprises of 8 to 10 questions.

 2.  General knowledge
      It also comprises of 8 to 10 questions.
      Rivers, park , sports venue, upcoming games venue etc.

 3.  Static 
  It also comprises of 8 to 10 questions. You can see it's content is never ending. So if you are left with time then go for it.   Focus mostly on History, polity.

 3.  Reasoning

Marks 25
Questions 25

Again this section is vast but you can Focus on following topics. It would fetch you around 20 questions.

 1.  Number System
 2. Analogy
 3. Coding and Decoding
 4. Ranking
 5. Odd one out
 6. Direction Test
 7. Image coding and missing part
 8. Assertion and Reasoning.

4. General English
Marks 25
Questions 25

This is also vast what you can do in short time is focus on following topics.
 1.  Use of Articles
 2. Prepositions
 3. Passage solving
 4. Antonyms and synonym.

Tips for Vizag Steel Technical Part ( Mechanical)

Though the Non-Technical part in Vizag Steel Exam is very important but you can't ignore Technical part. You have to score around 60 -70% in this section to for selection. As far as Mechanical Engineering is concerned you can prioritize your subjects according to time. 1. Design   It comprises of around 30% of questions.  In SOM mostly questions will be from Beam, stress basics, spring. In TOM  DOF, Gears and flywheel. If you have not studied gyroscope, balancing, governor than don't study at last moments, leave them. In MD failure equations, various lines, bearing basic.  2.  Thermal   It would comprise of 30% questions. Thermo and HMT basic questions should be the priority. In FM and FMC focus should be on viscosity, Bernoulli, Flow losses etc. In FMC, specific speed, discharge and classification are most important.  3.  Production, Industrial, and MS    It would comprise of 30% questions.  The focus should be on casting, machining, sequencing, and BEP.  4.
